Iguazu Falls
Named for the eponymous river on which it’s located, Iguazu Falls is one of many dual-national falls, with a side accessible from both Argentina and Brazil. Claiming to be the largest falls in the world, Iguazu legend has it an enraged deity sliced the river in half, creating the Falls.
Victoria Falls
Located on the Zambezi River in southern Africa, Victoria Falls is also accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe. Aside from the fact it’s one of the largest falls in the world, ‘the smoke that thunders’ also provides habitat for several unique species of animal to spot while you’re in the area. Why not relax with a view as you spot elephants and hippos from a sunset cruise?

Forming part of Iceland’s “Golden Circle”, the awe-inspiring falls can be seen on a day trip out of Reykjavík, the nation’s capital.
Niagara Falls
Whether you approach from the Canadian megalopolis of Toronto or the US cultural hotspot of Buffalo, do not miss out on Niagara Falls if you’re in northeastern North America. The Falls can be enjoyed as a day trip from either city, or an overnight stay, with the nearby namesake Canadian city offering several stunning lodgings on Niagara Parkway. Don’t miss a trip out to the falls on either Maid of the Mist or Hornblower. The boat ride to get up close and personal with the falls is definitely worth it, but prepare to get wet!
