Tasting Australia, SA
Any festival with a name as indicative as this has a lot to live up to, and Tasting Australia never disappoints.
Billing itself as “where foodies come to discover what’s new on the menu”, Tasting Australia takes place over 10 days, spotlighting the food and drink of its host state, South
Australia, but also offering up the best from the rest of the country, including its chefs, winemakers, producers, restauranteurs and more.
Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, VIC
Melbourne likes to appoint itself as the king of [insert latest
trend here], but admittedly, it certainly comes to the table with its annual Food & Wine Festival.
More than 200 events take place in this celebration of
gastronomy, which hosts food & drink masterclasses, events such as the ‘World’s Longest Lunch’, and more.
Taste of Tasmania, TAS
Tasmania is coming into its own as a destination, period, and this rapid ascent is occurring in the food sector as quickly as any other. A large part of that is owed to the Taste of Tasmania, Australia’s largest and longest running food and wine festival.
Located on Hobart’s waterfront and featuring Tasmania’s finest flavours, this carnival-like festival is the perfect way to spend a summer night. While the 2020/21 festival has been cancelled due to COVID-19, we can’t wait for next year.
Margaret River Gourmet Escape, WA
Offering up endless supplies of surf and wine, there may not be a more iconically Australian town than Margaret River, so there’s no surprise this South West WA location now also hosts a premier food festival, Margaret River Gourmet Escape.
This festival features three days of chefs, vintners and foodies converging for beach barbecues, long table lunches, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and Q&A sessions.
