Itinerary

Day 1 – Rio de Janeiro
Arrival to Rio de Janeiro. You will be met by an English speaking tour guide at the airport. On the way to your hotel on Copacabana or Ipanema beach, you will start experiencing the amazing natural beauty as you ride around Guanabara`s bay, through the Corcovado Mountain, by Rodrigo de Freitas` lagoon until you reach your hotel. The afternoon is free for you to relax on the beach or at the rooftop of your hotel, and start to get acquainted with this new life style.

Day 2 – Rio de Janeiro - Corcovado, Tijuca; Sao Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema beaches (B)
Get ready for a morning tour. You will be taken on a ride through the city to a 19th century train station to go through Tijuca Forest, on a cogwheel train, to the top of Corcovado Mountain, to visit the statue of Christ at 2,330 feet above the sea level. From there, you will be able to see why people kindly say that God is a Carioca (a local from Rio). After that, you will go to Sao Conrado`s beach to see the hang gliders land on the sand, and after that you will ride along the beaches of Sao Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema and back to Copacabana. Free afternoon.

Day 3 – Rio de Janeiro - Sugar Loaf; Botafogo and Flamengo beaches (B)
This morning you can sleep in late. In the afternoon, you will be taken on a cable car ride to the top of Sugar Loaf mountain to enjoy a panoramic view of Guanabara`s bay and the downtown of the city. Your sightseeing will continue along Botafogo`s and Flamengo`s beaches until you reach the downtown area of Rio de Janeiro, where you will visit the ultra modern Cathedral, the Sambodromo (Carnival`s dome), among other places.

Day 4 – Rio de Janeiro – Iguazu Falls (B)
Today is a transfer day. You will fly from Rio to the Iguazu Falls. A guide will await you there to take you to the hotel. A visit to the Brazilian side of the falls is waiting for you in the afternoon! The tour includes regular transportation and an English speaking guide. You will go for a walk through the subtropical forest and you will be able to enjoy incredible panoramic views of the falls including the Devils Throat. The thunderous roaring at the foot of the falls can be heard from miles away. Overnight in a hotel standard room.

Day 5 – Iguazu Falls – Argentinean Side (B)
Today enjoy a full day regular tour to the Argentinean side of the falls with English speaking guide visiting the three main paths: the upper and lower paths as well as the Devil´s Throat. The Argentinean side provides an intimate touch with the falls. Compared to the Brazilian spectacular panoramic view, the Argentinean side has the best and most varied up-close views of the falls. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 6 – Iguazu Falls – Buenos Aires (B)
Today is a transfer day again. You will fly from the falls to Buenos Aires. The rest of the day is at leisure, you can set out into the streets of this busy metropolis. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 7 - Buenos Aires (B)
You will discover the highlights of the attractive and pulsating capital of Argentina during a 3-hour city tour. The metropolis is famous for being the Paris of South America and the visitor will quickly recognize it by looking at its architecture. You will visit the heart of the city, the May Square (Plaza de Mayo), with the Government House (Casa Rosada) on one side of the square and the Cathedral (which is visited during the tour) on the other side, and the City Hall. The Cabildo is right across the street, it is the Town Hall of colonial times. From there, the bus drives you through San Telmo (a tango district) to La Boca, with its most famous colourful and picturesque houses on Caminito Street. At the end of the tour you will visit the Recoleta neighbourhood with wide avenues, parks and residential houses in French style. Here, you will visit the unique monumental cemetery, where Evita Perón and other historical people are buried. The rest of the day is at leisure. We highly recommend an evening Tango Show, which can be arranged for you on request.

Day 8 – Buenos Aires – “Tigre Tour” (B)
This is a half-day tour (about 4 hours) through the elegant suburbs of Olivos, Martinez and San Isidro, that will show passengers the streets and avenues lined by colourful trees, and lovely houses, some from mid 19th century. You will board at Tigre a typical river boat for a 60-minute cruise along the canals and streams that thread their way among many islands. The Paraná river starts far in the North, in Brazil, just South of the Amazon basin, and ends in this vast delta, before it flows into the river de la Plata. The vegetation in the delta is dense and many Porteños (inhabitants of Buenos Aires) have made sailing clubs and weekend homes, built on stilts because of frequent flooding. The way back to the hotel is along the Panamericana highway. The afternoon is at leisure again.

Day 9 – Buenos Aires (B)
Your stay in Buenos Aires draws to an end today. You will be driven to the Ezeiza airport to fly back home. Hope you enjoyed the holiday. See you soon in South America.
