Day 1 - Cusco
You will be driven to a hotel after arrival, to have a short rest and to acclimatize. Cusco is located 3200m above the sea level. A guided city tour is on the programme for the afternoon. Cusco has a marvellous historic square with colonial cathedrals, you will visit the Templo del Sol, which was the heart of the Inca Empire. The tour includes a visit to the huge fortress Sacsayhuaman and Puca Pucara. Puca Pucara means "red fort" but was more likely a storage area, hunting lodge, or stopping area for travelers rather than a fort. In the evening you can taste local Peruvian cuisine in one of the restaurants. Night in a hotel, close to the city centre.

Day 2 - Sacred Valley (B)
We set off for a day-trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas straight after breakfast. Ancient ruins, gentle mountain slopes and scattered farming towns define the valley. We will take you in the afternoon to Pisac village, renowned for its markets, colourful handmade crafts and souvenirs. All the Cusco surroundings is scattered with Inca ruins. So finally the town and an Inca archaeological site of Ollantaytambo close to Urubamba river will be visited. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 3 - Machu Picchu (B)
You will get on the train to Machu Picchu early in the morning and start the slow 4-hour long zig-zag ride up the peak. The train takes you through wild and beautiful nature to the “Lost City”. The magical ruins of Machu Picchu were rightfully included among the New Seven Wonders of the World. You will be guided through the site. More active tourists may climb the Huayna Picchu with a superb view. At the close of the day you will move to Aquas Calientes, from where a train takes you back to Cusco. Option: extended stay and lodging at Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes).
