Superb travelling along the North coast of Peru. Long used to playing second fiddle, the North is nevertheless incredibly rich in terms of archaeological treasures. This is the real adventurous vacation with a visit to exotic places you will never forget. Come and explore with us this less known part of Peru, the country of gold and sun.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival to Cajamarca
Reception and transfer to the hotel and accommodation. Rest of the morning is free for acclimatization. In the afternoon a city tour: Cathedral Church, characterized by its impressive facade carved in volcanic rock, Trujillo Main Square, San Francisco, Monumental Complex of Belén, Colonial Hospitals, The Rescue Room, which was filled twice with silver and once with gold by the Inca Atahualpa; Santa Apolonia Hill, splendid for an overlooking view of the city and valley, the Silla del Inca. Overnight in Cajamarca.

Day 2 – Otuzco (B, L)
In the morning an excursion to the Necropolis of Otuzco, La Hacienda Tres Molinos, the Garden of Hydrangeas and Fundo Los Alpes, where we can ride on walking horses and enjoy delicious dairy products. Typical lunch at the best restaurant in town at noon is included. Afterwards an excursion to the Collpa where the call of the cows for milking is made "by name". The excursion will end at Los Baños del Inca, medicinal hot springs resort, considered the most important of the northern Sierra. Return to Hotel. Overnight in Cajamarca.

Day 3 - Cumbemayo (B, L)
You set off for a trip to Cumbemayo after breakfast. On the route you can admire well known Bellavista, Layzon and Forest Park. At an average altitude of 3,500 meters (11,480 feet) above sea level lies the Archaeological Complex of Cumbemayo, a place where the highest hydraulic technology of ancient Peruvian communities and the impact of time upon nature are wonderfully combined. One of the main attractions of Cumbemayo, is the aqueduct. This is a canal of approximately 9km in length, carefully carved in volcanic rock to divert the water from the hills to cultivation fields and a large reservoir. In Cumbemayo you can take a walking tour through the Stone Forest, you will see the Sanctuary and the Stone of Sacrifice. Return to the city. Overnight in Cajamarca.

Day 4 - Porcón Farm (B)
In the morning you will set out on the way to the Agricultural Cooperative Atahualpa Jerusalem. Ascend to an altitude of 3000m, here you will find an unusual microclimate in this ecological zone. 10,000 hectares of pine plantations that characterize Porcón Farm create a beneficial micro climate. You will also visit the mini zoo and the pine forest between other things. Return to the city. Free afternoon for personal activities. Overnight in Cajamarca.

Day 5 - Transfer Cajamarca - Trujillo (B)
Early departure to Trujillo City. The rest of the day after arrival is at leisure. Overnight in Trujillo.

Day 6 - Complete Trujillo Tour (B)
In the morning, we will visit the largest mud archaeological complex of the pre-Hispanic America, Chan Chan, ancient Capital of the Chimu Empire (13th Century), visiting the Temple del Arco Iris (Rainbow) and then we proceed to Huanchaco Beach, well frequented by beach goers and surfers, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the local fishermen surfing the waves in their traditional "Caballitos de Totora", little reed boats used for fishing since pre Inca times, by Northern Peruvians. This will be the perfect spot to have lunch (not included). Then we continue with a city tour through the main square of Trujillo city visiting the most important cathedrals and churchs.

Day 7 – Departure
You will be taken to the airport or station, depending on your schedule. End of our services.
