Tour Description

Come with us to unravel the truth about these gigantic statues. Cradle of an enigmatic and mysterious civilization whose origins are still not known, this island is the most remote and solitary of the world. "Moais", quiet testimonies of a civilization never totally interpreted, are the main attractions offered by the island. You will have the opportunity to see more: the beach of Anakena, Ahu Tahai, with their red stone hat of ten tons and Ahu Akivi with their seven moais watching towards the sea. The island´s transparent waters, a pleasant semi-tropical climate and friendly natives will make the visit to the island an unforgettable experience.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Easter Island (Rapa Nui)
Reception and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Lodging

Day 2 – Easter Island - Rano Raraku, Ahu Tongariki, The Pito Kura, Anakena Beach (B, L)
Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a full day tour visiting Rano Raraku, a volcanic crater which supplied the stone from which moais were carved. After a packed lunch in Rano Raraku you move on to Ahu Tongariki with its 15 sculptures, including the heaviest moai of all (86tons). Te Pito Kura and marvellous Anakena Beach are the next two stops before return to the hotel for lodging.

Day 3 – Easter Island - Rano Kau, Orongo (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Half-day tour visiting Rano Kau crater and the Ceremonial Village of Orongo. They both lie in the Rapa Nui National Park which belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage sites. The afternoon is at leisure without a fixed programme. Lodging.

Day 4 – Easter Island - Ahu Akivi, Ana Tepahu caves, Puna Pau stone-pit (B)
Today you do not have to hurry with the breakfast because all morning is at leisure. In the afternoon you set out to Ahu Akivi (7 moais), Ana Tepahu caves and cantera de Puna Pau. Puna Pau was the sole source of the red scoria that the Rapanui used to carve the pukao (topknots) that they put on the heads of some of their iconic moai statues. Last night in the hotel on the Easter Island.
