Day 2 - Embarkation Day
Before embarking enjoy an excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park with a guide. Barbecue lunch with traditional Argentinean meals will be served. Embark in the afternoon. Then cruise the Beagle Channel to the South Atlantic Ocean.
Day 3 - At sea
Many activities keep you occupied at sea. Learn to identify seabirds that glide alongside the ship. Attend illustrated presentations by the Expedition Team that prepare you for the shore landings and Zodiac cruising. An education program is part of every expedition itinerary.
Day 4 - 5 Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)
Zodiacs zip you from ship to shore to hike where Kelp Geese graze and Rockhopper Penguins guard their burrows. Comb beaches and socialize with local residents.
Day 6 - 7 At Sea
The Expedition Team prepares you for landings and Zodiac cruises along the coast of South Georgia. Learn about penguins, reindeer and the island's connection to Sir Ernest Shackleton.
Day 8 - 10 South Georgia
The Expedition Team plans a series of landings at King Penguin rookeries, abandoned whaling stations and the grave of Sir Ernest Shackleton. Be as active as you like as South Georgia is an excellent locale for hiking or contemplation.
Day 11 - 12 At sea
The next presentations during this cruise itinerary are about the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula, and the unique flora and fauna found there.
Day 13 - 17 South Shetland & The Antarctic Peninsula
The South Shetland Islands are a haven for wildlife. Vast penguin rookeries, beaches ruled by Antarctic fur seals and southern elephant seals make every day spent in this amazing island group unforgettable. Deception Island, Neko Harbour and Paradise Harbour are names that conjure iconic images of the Antarctic Peninsula. Towering, glacier-capped mountains rise from a brilliant blue sea, dotted with ice floes. Guided hikes with the Expedition Team will have you trekking up a glacier, visiting a research station, or consorting with penguin colonies.
Day 18 - 19 The Drake Passage
Crossing the Drake Passage is a must for an Antarctic Peninsula expedition itinerary. Join our lecturers and naturalists on deck as we search for seabirds and whales and enjoy some final lectures. Take the chance to relax and reflect on the fascinating adventures of the past days on the way back to Ushuaia.
